Weiss & Company is a growing, full-service accounting firm, presently comprised of thirty individuals, twenty-three professionals and seven support staff, having affiliated offices in London, Zurich, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv and other international business centers. We have a well-established record of expertise and excellence, spanning accounting, tax planning (both domestic and international), management advisory services, estate planning, and forensic and computer systems consulting services.
Our clients comprise the middle-market area of companies with sales of $5,000,000 to $500,000,000, with a concentration in manufacturing, wholesaling, and importing, as well as individuals and groups in the service sector, i.e., attorneys, physicians, architects, and engineers.
We provide a full range of services as follows:
- Accounting, auditing, and tax services, including arranging banking, factoring, and other financing relationships;
- Extensive tax planning, tax preparation and compliance work; representation of clients at the Internal Revenue Service and at the state level;
- International (inbound and outbound) tax structuring, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, real estate, and planning, to minimize taxes on multinational entities, comply with complex reporting requirements and deal with issues such as personal foreign investment companies (PFIC), controlled foreign corporations (CFC), foreign investment in real property (FIRPTA), Subpart F and tax treaties;
- Management advisory services to assist and guide management in their business operations such as cash flow issues, succession planning, reorganization, and bankruptcy;
- Estate and Trust services, including U.S. estate planning for international clients, and preparation of Forms 706, 709 and annual 1041's;
- Forensic work to support attorneys in the areas of evaluation, litigation, matrimony, etc.;
- Computer consulting services to design, install, and implement computer systems for our clients or upgrade their existing systems.
In addition, we are affiliated with a small, high-caliber, tax and business law firm. The practitioners in this firm have a close working relationship with Weiss & Company and, in fact, share office space with us. Having a small cadre of tax and business law experts available not only enhances our practice but gives us an outstanding edge in providing our clients with sophisticated legal services and ready access to attorneys who can pursue all types of legal matters if that course of action becomes necessary. The relationship has enabled us to obtain a high level of legal services for our firm at an economical cost to our clients.
